At PremierPhotonics we keep ourselves focused on key application spaces, where we have a solution/product line which are a value add to our customers.
Our detectors are designed for excellence in laser range finding. These systems often utilise the Time-of-Flight (ToF) method of measurement for which our avalanche photodiodes (APDs) bring the most value. Their main benefits include low dark current and convinience in implementing in a system due to working voltage far away from the breakdown.
Our products can also be found in geospatial, autonomous and wind LIDARs. We support laser sources with narrow linewidths and high powers (MOPA, DFB), as well as linear output detectors, both avalanche photodiodes for Time-Of-Flight, as well as PIN photodiodes for coherent LIDAR. Our range of optics as well as fibre optical components is specially designed to work well in this application.

Fibre interrogation both in the telecom space as well as the distributed sensing is in the focus of PremierPhotonics business. There, a finely tuned and reflected light pulse is picked up by a detector (often an avalanche photodiode). We support both detectors (InGaAs APDs, InGaAs PIN PD arrays) as well as light sources, such as laser diodes and LEDs. Our range of components is designed for OTDR and aimed primarely at cost reduction. Whereas our InGaAs PIN PD arrays are aimed at reduction of our customers BOM cost.
In this broad application space, PremierPhotonics provides two main product types - light sources and detectors.
We support laser diodes such as DFBs, which are spectrally centred around the most common gas absorption lines. This is a commonly used product in gas sensing technique of TDLAS.
